It's the 24th anniversary of 9/11. RIP to the millions that died directly and as a result of the subsequent wars.

I made my last email about 9/11 public (the link is here). That stuff is important, but for the first time (!) on a 9/11 anniversary, I feel it's more important that we focus on the slayings of Iryna Zarutska and Charlie Kirk. This is another sad email, so I'll end it with a bunch of lighthearted stuff.

I feel like the political "temperature" rose many degrees two days ago when the rest of the footage of Iryna's stabbing was released. White nationalist talking points were breaking past the gatekeepers and into the mainstream conversation:

Initially we got footage that paused just before the stabbing itself. I've seen a lot of bad stuff on 4chan, Telegram, and Twitter over the years, but I genuinely believe that the footage AFTER her being stabbed is the worst thing I've seen on the internet in years. I'm including it in this email, but there will be ample warning if you'd rather scroll past it. The expressions on their faces is what haunts me, not the gore.

Okay, here's the video of poor Iryna Zarutska getting stabbed in the neck and falling over. I combined two different camera angles into this video, but I didn't censor anything (the source videos were censored). I ask you to watch the whole 50 seconds, because both angles are important. It is worth noting that one of those black passengers tried to help her eventually, but the overall indifference speaks volumes.

That brings us to the killing of Charlie Kirk yesterday. Charlie was 31 years old, with a wife and two little kids. His Phoenix-based organization (Turning Point USA) was center-right, and for years, Charlie would debate college kids and others all over the country. He would act as a gatekeeper and prevent in-depth discussion of the Jewish Question, and I'm not proud that my last replies to him on Twitter mocked him for this. But in the last week or two, I started noticing edgier things from historically centrist people on Twitter, including Charlie talking about jewish support for endless immigration. This was his last post:

It seems he was shot in the neck with a rifle and died shortly afterwards. The suspect that was initially blamed doesn't seem to have been the shooter. Due to its impact on our society, I believe this 4 second tragic video should be seen by those that can handle it. The political left labeled Charlie all sorts of things he actually wasn't, which poses a truly terrifying idea:

There is a RIDICULOUS quantity of celebration and gloating over this assassination from leftists. I'm sure we'll learn much more soon, but I think this is an important moment in American politics. The reactions over these two murders tell us a lot about our fellow citizens, and ultimately that is the story I want us to contemplate.

I don't like it. I'm not sure where it goes.
